- Effects on acute and chronic morphine on lateral paracapsular circuitry
- Abstract
- The amygdala is a brain region critical for fear and stress responses, and projects to areas that trigger drug-seeking behaviors. Stress and morphine have individually been shown to enhance signaling in the amygdala that is a critical area in addiction. Our hypothesis is that morphine and stress increases drug-seeking behaviors.
