Poster Title
Investigating Characteristics of The Spanish Flu Pandemic (1918-1920) in Utah Mining Communities
Abstract
Utilizing death certificate data, the potential health effects of mining can be assessed by comparing the rates of different causes of death between mining and non-mining towns. The data was used to determine if miners or particular ages were vulnerable to respiratory causes of deaths during the Spanish Flu Pandemic.
