Poster Title
Virus-Induced Inhibition of Mu Opioid Receptors and Anxiety in Mice
Abstract
The opioid epidemic has worsened. While the link between opioids and addiction is clear, opioids’ link to anxiety is not. We ran mice through behavioral tests to measure anxiety. Repeated opioid injections increased anxiety behaviors. Inhibiting mu opioid-receptors in the basolateral amygdala with a virus made these behaviors significantly lower.
