Poster Title
Native Americans in STEM: A Case Study of Mentored Internships
Abstract
Our three-year, comparative study focuses on Native American college students participating in two mentored STEM internships. We conducted interviews and recorded participants’ perspectives on increases in educational self-efficacy. Both internships improved students’ capacities by boosting their confidence, knowledge, and abilities. The culturally-inclusive and supportive environments helped students overcome educational obstacles.
