Poster Title
MAOa-Genotype-by-Environment Interactions on Central Monoamine Metabolite Concentrations in Infant Rhesus Macaques (Macaca Mulatta)
Abstract
This study assesses the impact of MAOa genotype and parental absence on dopamine, serotonin and norepinephrine activity over the first six months of life in rhesus monkeys. Results showed a genotype-by-rearing effect on the activity of all three neurotransmitters, indicating that genetic influences are modulated by early rearing.
