Poster Title
Translating Kagan’s Human Testing Paradigm for Measuring Behavioral Inhibition four Use Infant Rhesus Macaques (Macaca Mulatta)—A Pilot Study
Abstract
Behavioral inhibition (BI) is the tendency to withdraw from novelty and is stable across time. In human children, BI is typically assessed using Kagan’s seminal paradigm. This study translates Kagan’s methodology for use in rhesus monkeys, showing neonatal temperamental emotionality predicts behaviors used to characterize BI in toddler-aged rhesus monkeys.
